In the UK, Severn Glocon has moved its Group headquarters to a new facility in Gloucester, providing over 70,000 sq.ft of modern manufacturing space, including new investment in CNC machining, testing and painting plant.
In addition to the enlarged factory, improvements to engineering and contract management teams have also been implemented to further support the complex delivery requirements of customers.
Careful relocation planning enabled the project to be completed on target by mid-April, without a day of production being lost and with no impact upon customer service.
In India, where Severn Glocon has had a manufacturing capacity for over five years, a completely new factory has been built in Chennia to make many standard components and provide a fast-track manufacturing outlet for markets in the Middle and Far East.
"The key to these two investment decisions is that we are now operating in a truly global way.
We needed to address our capacity for the long term while ensuring that we remain cost effective and competitive." explains Severn Glocon Group Chief Executive Maurice Critchley: "We are proud to be a British manufacturer, designing and manufacturing in the UK to the highest standards, and we will continue to export from our new and modern Gloucester facility.
Complementing this, our Chennai investment provides huge flexibility, enabling us to compete in demanding markets with no loss of quality".
