Skills range from simple evaluations of existing components to the design and analysis of complete systems.
Work is performed using a combination of advanced analysis tools including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), together with bespoke engineering software and proprietary Solid Edge and Solid Works CAD, analysis and visualisation packages.
These skills will focus on process flow design and management activities, providing technical support and software development to serve performance analysis and improvement projects, criticality studies and the implementation of quality systems to meet ever more stringent demands from international regulatory bodies, environmental legislation and the drive for increased efficiency and reliability.
Colin Findlay, Director and General Manager for Severn Unival, explained the strategy behind the acquisition: "The growth of the Severn Glocon Group is looking beyond our established valve business.
The Design Paradigm acquisition will form the platform for the development of a project design and management division, operating independently of the Group's valve companies to actively support project developments within our core oil, gas and nuclear markets".
