Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Dec 15, 2009

An agreement signed by Sheffield Hallam University will give its engineering and computing students membership of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).

The IET provides a global knowledge network to enable the exchange of ideas and promote the positive role of science, engineering and technology in the world.

IET membership provides students with access to resources specifically designed to help them in their studies, such as 65,000 books and journals, CV clinics, information on scholarships and bursaries, and software discounts.

Students will also have access to a network of engineering and technology professionals, to help them build relevant contacts and develop their careers.

The university will use the IET's products and services to support the teaching of the professional-development modules within its degree programmes, as well as highlighting the technical resources available to the student through the IET.

The agreement will allow up to 3,000 computing, engineering and science students to benefit from the IET's products and services during the 09/10 academic year.
