Sea water valve contract for South Pars gas field
Shipham Valves supplied swing check and gate valves in nickel aluminium bronze for the sea water fire fighting ring main of the on-shore phases of the giant South Pars gas field development in Iran
Shipham Valves, a member of UK based Flow Group, has successfully supplied swing check and gate valves in nickel aluminium bronze materials for the sea water fire fighting ring main on the on-shore phases 6, 7 and 8 of the giant South Pars gas field development in Iran.
The underground gate valves, in sizes up to 32'' and ANSI 300 ratings, are supplied complete with large extensions and pedestals to allow uniform operation above ground.
South Pars gas field is situated on the Iran - Qatar median line in the Persian Gulf.
It is one of the largest gas fields in the world.
The field lies in waters covering 3,700 square kilometres with gas in place ( GIP ) reserves estimated at 464 Tcf which equates to 8 percent of total world reserves.
The processing plant is designed to produce 2800 MSCFD of dry sour gas, 3.7 million tpd of LPG and 122,000 bpd of condensate.
The gas will be transported by the IGAT-5 pipeline to the Agharaji oilfield for re-injection.
The contract was awarded by the joint-venture TIJD main contractor.
The TIJD-consortium consists of Toyo Engineering Corp ( TEC ) and JGC Corp of Japan, Industrial Development and Renovation Organisation ( IDRO ) of Iran and Daelim Industrial Corp ( DIC ) of Korea.
With on-time delivery of more than 3,500 valves and enough project documentation to fill a 20 foot container, Trevor Fairhurst, Sales and Marketing Director of Shipham Valves commented on the professionalism and dedication of the entire Shipham workforce: "Having supplied all previous phases of the South Pars development since Phase 2, Shipham Valves are now universally recognised as a supply partner with immaculate credentials for reliability, on-time delivery and a thorough understanding of the need for logistical support, particularly in the form of project documentation.
That has once again been re-affirmed by the recent signing of awards to supply similar valves to the phases 9 and 10 of the South Pars development".
In April 2005 Shipham Valves were proud recipients of the Queens Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category in recognition of a 275 percent increase in export trade over the three previous years.
