Decontamination specialist Showers and Eyebaths Services, will supply 24 self contained emergency shower units for use on the Kashagan Field Development Project in Kazakhstan

Merseyside based decontamination specialist Showers and Eyebaths Services, has won a $280,000 contract to supply 24 self contained emergency shower units for use on the Kashagan Field Development Project in Kazakhstan.

With temperatures in this part of the world dropping to minus 40 degrees C and scorching up to 40 degrees C, field operators were keen to find a suitable specification of unit that would withstand such extreme conditions.

Allan Yates, managing director of Showers and Eyebaths said: "With breakthroughs in drilling techniques, it is now possible to operate in the most extreme climate conditions and we have to be able to adapt accordingly.

We already have a number of units working out in this area and this contract is an exciting development for our business".

These 'Arctic' showers are manufactured from GRP and stainless steel and are therefore resistant to corrosion: they provide superior strength and longevity when outside.

The units are heated inside, have spring-loaded doors and are lit both inside and out.

Importantly the water supply is contained in a top tank, which has its own heating according to regulated health and safety standards.

This means the units have a guaranteed 15min water supply available for instant use.
