Merseyside based decontamination specialist Showers and Eyebaths Services has secured a GBP137k contract to supply 57 emergency shower and eyewash units to Abu Dhabi

Merseyside based decontamination specialist Showers and Eyebaths Services has secured a GBP137k contract to supply the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operation (ADCO) with 57 emergency shower and eyewash units Expansion of the gas processing facility at Habshan through the OGD-III Upstream Project (P90071) demanded the supply of self-contained 350-litre water tank showers due to the absence of a water network at the wellhead area

With temperatures at Habshan reaching 40C in May to September, with high humidity levels and very little rainfall, the units had to be able to maintain the water at a safe temperature.

ADCO was keen to find a suitable specification of unit that would withstand such conditions.

Allen Yates, managing director of Showers and Eyebaths said: "We have worked with them on smaller projects, and are delighted that they have recognised our quality service delivery which has given them the confidence to place this order with us.

It is an exciting development, and 36 units have already been completed and delivered to Habshan".

The self-contained showers are manufactured from Glass Reinforced Plastic and stainless steel and are therefore resistant to corrosion, giving superior strength and longevity when outside.

The water supply is contained in an overhead tank to give complete body decontamination.
