The new Siemens explosion-proof compact process gas chromatograph uses modern silicon micro-machining techniques to facilitate miniaturisation while simultaneously increasing power and versatility

Compact process gas chromatograph can be installed directly at the sampling point.

With its compact 14" x 9" dimensions, the MicroSAM (micro single analyser module) is the smallest process gas chromatograph from Siemens Automation and Drives.

The new explosion-proof device was developed using modern silicon micro-machining techniques to facilitate miniaturisation while simultaneously increasing power and versatility.

With extremely low power consumption of a maximum of 50 VA at 24 V DC, explosion protection for zone 1 and permissible ambient temperatures of -20C to +50C you can install MicroSAM directly at the sample extraction point under a sun and rain cover.

Ethernet communication links the new devices to other chromatographs, process control systems or a PC from which the entire analytical system can be compared.

The explosion-proof enclosure of the ready-for-installation, turnkey MicroSAM houses the electronics, pneumatics and analysis technology with valve-less injection and column switching.

A thermal conductivity detector array measures all column and vent flows as well as the injection peak itself.

This enhances the accuracy of the measuring results.

The cycle times are drastically reduced to facilitate virtually continuous on-line monitoring of sample composition and quality.

The standardised analysis modules are easy and quick to replace.

Injection and column switching function maintenance-free with electronic pressure control.

Multiple MicroSAMs can easily be connected together to permit several process streams to be analysed simultaneously or for redundancy purposes.
