Siemens plc has acquired Transmitton from the Alchemy backed ICS Group: Transmitton will become part of Siemens in the UK reporting to Siemens Transportation Systems

Siemens plc has acquired Transmitton from the Alchemy backed ICS Group.

As a result, Transmitton will become part of Siemens in the UK reporting to Siemens Transportation Systems.

The acquisition of Transmitton provides Siemens with an excellent opportunity to grow its business and develop its integrated control and asset management technology and systems in the rail and oil and gas industries.

Further benefits will also open up new markets for Siemens both in the UK and overseas.

At the forefront of rail technology, Siemens Transportation Systems designs, manufactures and maintains rolling stock, signaling, electrification and rail communications systems.

With complementary technology, Transmitton is a leading UK control systems supplier to the rail and mass transit industry.

The company portfolio also includes gas and oil pipeline management, and process and automation technology.

Transmitton, based in Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire, employs 120 people.

The company won the Enterprise through Innovation Award and was voted Business of the Year in the 2005 Leicestershire Business Awards.
