Open channel flow monitors approved to
MCERTS
The HydroRanger 200 and OCM III are the first open channel flow monitors that meet the stringent test requirements of MCERTS in the UK, and are the first certified Class 1 open channel flow monitors
The Siemens HydroRanger 200 and OCM III are the first open channel flow (OCM) monitors that meet the stringent test requirements of MCERTS in the United Kingdom, and are the first certified Class 1 open channel flow monitors MCERTS aims to improve the quality of monitoring and reported data of the flow of sewage or trade effluents delivered by water companies and industrial users, who have consent to discharge wastewater to rivers or sewers under the Water Resources Act 1991

Safety controller suits Category 4 applications
Siemens has a powerful new fail-safe CPU for its Simatic-S7 300 controllers, suitable for use in safety-critical applications conforming to Categories 1 to 4 (EN 954-1) or SIL 1 to 3 (IEC 61508)
Siemens HydroRanger 200 and OCM III are the first MCERTS approved products for open channel flow measurement.
They also meet current international standards and the growing requirements of EC Directives.
The newly certified monitors provide water companies and industrial users with confidence that they are conforming to strict environmental regulations.
This certification recognizes the accuracy and reliability of Siemens instrumentation, and its share in improving the treatment process.
HydroRanger 200 is an ultrasonic level controller for up to six pumps, and provides control, differential control, and open channel flow monitoring.
Featuring Sonic Intelligence advanced echo-processing software it monitors water and wastewater of any consistency up to 15 m (50 ft) in depth with an achievable resolution of 0.1% and with an accuracy to 0.25% of range.
It calculates flow rate and totalised flow simultaneously, it calculates to BS3680 standards for flumes and weirs, and with the dual point option it measures level and flow.
With its many functions, HydroRanger 200 is easy to set up with pre-programmed primary elements (PMD) or a 32 Point breakpoint characterisation table (or curve).
OCM III is a high accuracy ultrasonic flow monitor for open channels.
In addition to monitoring flowrate in sewage works, the OCM III can monitor industrial discharge, rainfall/storm water studies, inflow/infiltration studies, and sewer system evaluations.
The programmable head versus flow curve (up to 16 points) accurately defines flow rate on unique or non-standard weirs and flumes.
The OCM III has data logging and is adjustable from once per minute to once a day.
It records the average flow rate for that time period.
Daily, it records min/max of temperature and flow rates, and the time they occurred, as well as the daily total.
