Sitrans Probe LU, the ultrasonic level transmitter with the highest accuracy on the market, now offers Profile 3 Class B connectivity to a Profibus network.

Profibus is the fieldbus standard for complete production plants in all process sectors, and helps manufacturers achieve operational excellence.

Sitrans Probe LU is also available with HART communications.

The user can configure the instrument with a hand held programmer and Simatic PDM software.

Siemens Automation and Drives - Process and Analytics offers radar and ultrasonic level transmitters, as well as inverse frequency capacitance switches with Profibus PA.

With its introduction in 2004 the Sitrans Probe LU set the standard for precision ultrasonic level measurement with an accuracy of 0.15%.

Siemens engineers attained the improvement through enhancements in the Sonic Intelligence echo processing software that compensate for echo attenuation and for noise floor increase.

This results in a significant improvement in accuracy and reliability.

Backed by Siemens experience of over a million wide-ranging field applications and nineteen patents, Sitrans Probe LU measures level in storage vessels, process vessels, and open channels in water and wastewater, food, and chemical industries.

It monitors tanks of up to 12 metres on liquid and slurry surfaces.

The transducer is available as ETFE or PVDF to suit varying chemical and temperature conditions.
