The latest version of the award-winning Sitrans LR 400 radar level transmitter is field proven in thousands of applications on dusty solids such as cement, fly-ash, flour, grain, and plastics

Siemens announces the latest release of its award-winning Sitrans LR 400 level radar transmitter Field proven in thousands of installations on a variety of applications, Sitrans LR 400 has been a breakthrough in continuous level measurement for dusty solids such as cement, fly-ash, flour, grain, and plastics

A newly designed Easy Aimer is now standard, allowing for simpler installation and orientation of the device to improve the signal on sloped solids surfaces.

The Easy Aimer allows proper orientation of the beam without removing the device from the process.

In addition, the antenna system has been re-designed for lower loss and improved gain, thus increasing the signal to noise ratio.

The Sitrans LR 400 4-wire powered and 24 GHz frequency-modulated, continuous wave (FMCW) radar technology ensures superior performance for long-range measurement up to 50 m (164 ft), even through extreme dust or in applications with low dielectric liquids such as solvents, petrochemicals, oils or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).

Advanced echo processing means the Sitrans LR 400 is unaffected by obstructions and automatically responds to changing vessel conditions.

The result is repeatable, fast, and reliable measurement.

Sitrans LR 400 features a rugged, industrial, aluminum enclosure and robust screw terminals with ample room for wiring.

Operating in extreme conditions, Sitrans LR 400 offers a 200 C (392 F) temperature rating as standard with an option to 250 C (482 F).

Configuration is simple using the infra-red hand-held programmer and Auto-Setup parameters or with a PC running Simatic PDM over HART or Profibus PA.

The infra-red hand-held programmer means there is no need to open the cover for programming, which avoids allowing dust or moisture ingress to the electronic compartment.

An extensive set of advanced user parameters is available for troubleshooting by our technical support staff for very difficult applications.

Simatic PDM offers additional capabilities, including parameter storage, troubleshooting and advanced configuration.

A local, back-lit display is also standard and ideal for dark and dusty environments.
