The new Sigrist LabScat from Siemens Automation and Drives - Process Instrumentation and Analytics is a reliable, easy-to-operate laboratory turbidimeter for use in wineries, breweries and distilleries.

The unit allows the user to check the turbidity/haze of both light and dark beers, wine and spirits either in the bottle or in cuvettes.

Any effects of bottle damage or unevenness of the glass surfaces are completely eliminated by automatic bottle rotation and a water path is provided to allow chill haze measurements As part of the Sigrist range of process turbidimeters, the LabScat has a measuring span from 0 to 500 EBC and can store up to 999 readings in its memory.

Data is output to a printer; alternatively it can be exported and stored as a file on a PC.

The LabScat detects 90 degree scattered light and 25 degree forward scattered light.

An optional semi-automatic version of LabScat is available for controlled turbidity measurement at specific temperatures for quality assurance in the laboratory.
