Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Oct 24, 2008

The Siemens Industry Automation Division has developed a kit for checking the performance and accuracy of any type and brand of energy meter in heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications.

The all-inclusive kit contains the clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter Sitrans FUE1010 along with transducers, 1,000ohm platinum resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), cables, and so on, which are required for measurement of district energy cooling, chilled water applications and power plants.

Chiller efficiency analysis and surveys on non-metered installations can also be performed and logged.

The two-channel flow meter is built up for measurement on one or two pipes, enabling measurement on supply as well as return pipes with the use of only one meter.

The one-hour, quick-charge battery pack allows four hours of normal operation, ensuring facilitated field use and portability.
