Assisting optimisation of sterilisation processes
The Signatrol Temp-IT universal data logging software now has F0 calculation functionality, specifically developed for the validation of anti-bacterial steam sterilisation and cooking processes
Depending on the model chosen, these self contained, single channel temperature data loggers can operate over a temperature range from -40 to +125C.
The SL51X can store up to 2000 readings over a temperature range of -40 to +85C, while the SL52 and 53X can be set up to record 4000 temperature readings in high resolution mode (11 bit or 0.0625 C) or 8000 readings in low resolution (8 Bit or 0.5 C) mode with an accuracy of better than 0.5C over a range of 0 to +125C.
Their small size makes them ideal for use in a wide range of applications, especially in the food and beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

The loggers are small enough to fit inside glass bottles and containers, and units are already being used in areas as diverse as vinegar distillation and chocolate manufacture.
Set up and data down-load is achieved simply and quickly using the SL50R Button Reader, which interfaces to the RS232 or USB port of a PC.
Sampling rates can be set from one second to twenty-four hours and the built-in battery can power the logger for up to 10 years or one million readings, depending on the application.
The reader is totally compatible with the Signatrol universal Temp-lite operating software and data can be securely stored and retrieved at a later time for display in graphical format.
The loggers can be set up to record in a continuous first-in,-first-out, or stop when full mode.
The software can be up-graded to TempIT-Pro which provides important additional features such as data table, export data, email graphs, snap to trace and automated MKT (Mean Kinetic Temperature) calculations.
The Temp Software is a single package that is used to set up all Signatrol data loggers and enables different types of logger to be seamlessly integrated for different applications.
Each unit has the capability of storing specific manifest details and features a unique serial number etched into the base for traceability purposes.
The delayed start facility of up to 45 days allows the logger to be programmed to commence with a particular process or transport schedule.
Alternatively it can be set to start logging when triggered by an event, for instance, when a particular temperature threshold is exceeded.
