Digital correlation transit-time ultrasonic meter

A Sierra Instruments product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 19, 2008

The Innova-Sonic in-line Model 206 state-of-the-art Digital Correlation Transit-Time Ultrasonic flowmeter is designed to give customers an alternative choice for typical liquid Mag-Meter applications

The Innova-Sonic main benefits are a high performance and an affordable price.

The Model 206 has +/-0.5% of reading accuracy, as good as any typical magnetic flowmeter, but the ability to measure down to zero flow and in virtually any clean liquid regardless of conductivity sets it apart.

Sierra innovative advance in transit-time technology provides literally an order-of-magnitude improvement in transit-time ultrasonic flow measurement compared to other transit-time ultrasonic instruments in use today: this PicoFly Technology is an industry first.

PicoFly allows ultrasonic transit time-of-flight to be measured in picoseconds 10e-12 (one trillionth of a second) rather than the typical nanoseconds 10e-9 (one billionth of a second).

The result is superior response to changes in flow and excellent resolution, that enables extreme low flow detection.
