Smith Flow Control has been awarded the contract to supply safety interlocks for the Buzzard field development in the North Sea operated by EnCana (UK) Limited
Smith Flow Control has been awarded the contract to supply safety interlocks for the Buzzard field development in the North Sea operated by EnCana (UK) Limited The company will supply approximately 220 interlocks for process pressure protection and for the crude export pig launcher
Interlocks ensure all valve handling procedures are carried out in the correct sequence, reducing the chances of serious accidents due to operator error.
In addition to valves and pig launchers, interlocks can also be used to protect switches, vessel closures, access guards, tanker loading systems and pressure and temperature sensing systems.
