Sixnet adds Linux web server to IPm
products
The popular "Boa" web server is now standard firmware installed on each Sixnet IPm product, which already includes the Sixtrak IPm open DCS controller and the Versatrak IPm remote terminal unit
This general public license (GPL) Linux application serves standard web pages that can be viewed with any browser The Sixnet IPm line of Linux based open industrial automation products currently includes the Sixtrak IPm open DCS controller and the Versatrak IPm remote terminal unit (RTU)

The addition of the Boa web server to the IPm firmware provides users with the option of creating their own web based solutions for their automation needs using common HTML/web development languages and tools.
Sample PERL scripts for accessing information from within the IPm unit are also included in the firmware.
Web applications can be installed on IPm units using standard FTP utilities or the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit software (users must license the "web server accessibility" option of the I/O Tool Kit software to access IPm I/O registers in their web pages).
