Keeping level measurement simple
For tank, silo or vessel level measurement and control, Siemens has launched a new continuous level measurement device, ideal for the food and beverage, and pharmaceutical sector
The Sitrans LG200, from Siemens Process Instrumentation, is a guided wave radar transmitter which is designed for tank level, level interface and volume measurement of both liquids and solids such as grains, juices, milk within the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries The Sitrans LG200 is designed to be unaffected by changes in process conditioning, high temperatures, pressure and steam, ensuring accurate measurement in level, volume and interface applications

The guided wave radar can automatically ignore obstructions and is able to apply algorithms to raw echoes in order to produce accurate and reliable measurements.
Offering coaxial, single or twin rod probes, for short and extended applications, the LG200 is ideal for small tanks and fast acting process conditions.
Furthermore, the two-wire, loop-powered HART level transmitter Sitrans LG200 can measure materials with a dielectric range of 1.4 and higher with temperatures up to 427C (800F), as well as pressures up to 6250psig (431bar).
Featuring a compact design and a range of threaded and flanged process connections, the Sitrans LG200 is also easy to install with a quick set-up possible thanks to the three programming buttons on the instrument or via a HART hand-held programmer.
Users can also now programme the device from a remote location using the Process Device Manager Simatic PDM via HART protocol.
The LG200 is designed to measure accurately in liquid, or slurry applications of corrosive vapours, foam, saturated steam, high viscosity, quick fill/empty rates, low levels and varying dielectrics and product densities.
