SKF Reliability Systems has launched Microlog CMVA65, a portable data collector/FFT analyser, which builds on the power, value and success of its predecessor, the CMVA60.

The Microlog CMVA65 is equipped with Harmonic Activity Locator (HAL) - embedded intelligence that emulates the process analysts used to identify harmonic series.

This enables more efficient and effective analysis and detection of mechanical problems.

HAL will also alert the operator when an abnormality is detected.

Additional software wizards have been embedded into the CMVA65, which further help users to easily detect, analyse and correct machine problems.

The new HAL Wizard utilises an incorporated SKF Bearing Library for data comparisons.

Other wizards include the Configuration Wizard, which stores up to six user-defined application configurations and the Motor Current and Cyclic Analysis Wizards, which are for monitoring engines, motors and compressors.

On-board Flash memory means that upgrades can be easily downloaded straight from the web.

The transflective higher resolution LCD colour screen has an adjustable backlight and offers enhanced readability - both indoors and outdoors.

The keypad has been redesigned and now features larger colour keys for ease of use.

The unit has an Intel 32-bit microprocessor and 6Mb memory (Flash 4Mb).

It also boasts a data collection rate of up to five times the rate of previous-generation data collectors and has a continuously adjustable range that stretches between 0.5 and 20Hz.
