Vibration data analyser for hazardous
environments
SKF has launched a new data collector/analyser that enables process, plant and maintenance engineers take multi-parameter vibration measurements in hazardous operating environments
SKF, the knowledge engineering company, has launched a new data collector/analyser that has been specifically developed to enable process, plant and maintenance engineers to take multi-parameter vibration measurements in hazardous operating environments The Microlog CMXA 51-IS offers all the functionality of the SKF proven Microlog CMXA 50, yet carries the intrinsically safe (IS) designation, and features a screen that is double the size to improve ease of use still further

SKF Y-bearing units designed to take the heat
The latest generation of Y-bearing units for extreme temperatures from SKF are optimising productivity and minimising costs in a diverse variety of industrial applications
Ideal for use in a wide range of applications within the offshore, petrochemical and chemical sectors, the compact, hand-held Microlog CMXA 51-IS allows the collection of vibration, process and dynamic data, enabling problems to be detected and identified in rotating machines such as gearboxes, motors, fans and pumps.
The rugged data collector/analyser is rated intrinsically safe in accordance with the European Union Explosive Atmospheres (ATEX) directive for use in Zone 0 conditions, equipment designation II 1G, Eex ia IIC T4.
The new Microlog CMXA 51-IS uses a single data acquisition channel, plus a single phase channel, making it compatible for use with all ICP accelerometers, velocity transducers, temperature sensors, photo-optical pickups and DC inputs; data can also be input manually.
Furthermore, the unit operates using a Windows CE platform with 16MB Flash memory and 8MB Flash extended memory for optimum flexibility, scalability and data-storage capacity, while a 400Mz X-Scale Intel processor ensures exceptionally fast data capture.
The Microlog CMXA 51-IS also provides up to eight hours battery life for longer field operation.
Designed for easy setup and operation by users of all skill levels, the Microlog CMXA 51-IS features a context-sensitive help function as well as a red-amber-green (warning-caution-okay) traffic light indicator, making it simple to set-up and use.
Similarly, a large VGA back-lit monochrome liquid-crystal display, function keys, four cursor keys and a numeric keypad enable easy screen navigation and data input.
The Microlog CMXA 51-IS has been designed to integrate easily with the existing SKF products and services, such as the proven machine suites and reliability software applications, and is backed by the SKF global network of sales and technical support offices. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
