KTB integral dosing system for "difficult" sites

A Michael Smith Engineers product story

Michael Smith Engineers have developed a compact, self-contained bulk storage and dosing system which provides efficient chemical treatment, even at the most 'difficult' sites

Effective chemical dosing at 'difficult' water, sewage or effluent treatment sites, such as those which are remote, exposed, unmanned, environmentally sensitive or have restricted access, present unique challenges.

Also, the logistics and extra costs involved, such as labour and additional building work, can be prohibitive.

Michael Smith Engineers have developed a compact, self-contained bulk storage and dosing system which provides efficient chemical treatment, even at the most 'difficult' sites.

The KTB unit, appropriately named as it combines the three key ingredients of kiosk, tank and bund into one integral unit, incorporates the six major components required for effective dosing.

These are a bulk storage tank for the chemical, a bund providing secondary containment, a secure area for filling and monitoring the level in the storage tank, the dosing equipment including pumps, valves and manifolds, the control panel and finally the kiosk to house the dosing and control equipment.

The result is an integral package, which is safe, secure, suitable for any location, fully tested prior to delivery, easily transported and simple to install.

Each unit can be designed and built to customers requirements, taking into consideration individual site limitations and dimensional restrictions.

Also, control logic and dosing equipment can be specified by the customer.

All KTB units are fully tested at the Michael Smith Engineers Woking works and installation on-site is completed by simply connecting external power, signal and telemetry cables and running the discharge hose.

Today, over 150 KTB systems, with capacities ranging from 1500 to 35000 litres, are operating on sites throughout the UK and Ireland in applications which include septicity control, phosphate removal, pH correction, flocculation and Orthophosphoric acid dosing for plumbosolvency.
