Tough, durable, yet compact, close-coupled gear pumps, capable of handling differential pressures up to 24 bar and flows to 75 litres/min, have recently been introduced by Michael Smith Engineers

A new series of tough, durable, yet compact, close-coupled gear pumps which are capable of handling differential pressures up to 24 bar and flows to 75 litres/min, has recently been introduced by Michael Smith Engineers The Liquiflo Max Series is available in either 316 stainless steel or Titanium precision machined, heavy-duty bodies to ensure long service life, even in high pressure applications where other types of gear pumps may fail

Ideally suited to most chemical pumping applications, Liquiflo Max pumps are offered in seven sizes in either single or double mechanical seal or magnetic drive configurations.

The pumps incorporate a number of important features contributing to improved performance and optimum reliability.

For example; a new design of helical gear which is smoother and quieter than spur gears to ensure reduced pulsations and therefore less stress on internal components, while all wear plates have specifically designed relief paths to eliminate hydraulically induced gear separation forces.

In addition to offering a wide selection of gear and shaft materials, Liquiflo offers an integral (one-piece) gear-shaft arrangement using heat treated 17-4 PH SS material.

This Precipitate Hardened (PH) stainless steel provides optimum corrosion resistance and so extends the pumps suitability to 'difficult' chemical applications.

To facilitate easy repair and maintenance the pump alignment pins are substantially larger in diameter than pins typically used in other pump designs.

This means pump assembly and disassembly is easier because the larger pins are easier to handle and they will not bend or distort, even if pliers or other mechanical devices are used.
