With the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive due to come into force in January 2006, organisations should be looking for new ways to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings.
This directive, a new performance standard based on a target carbon dioxide emissions rate for heating, hot water and lighting, will publicly rate buildings on their energy performance.
"We're inviting organisations to anonymously register the size and type of their facility and details of energy consumption," explains Richard Hipkiss from Schneider Electric.
"This way, we'll be able to advise on the best course of action for improving the energy performance of each individual building.
Information is critical to understanding where energy is utilised and where savings can be made".
Incorporating the Schneider Electric brands, Merlin Gerin, Telemecanique, and Clipsal, Transparent Building Integrated Systems will demonstrate the energy saving capabilities of intelligent buildings.
