David Nicholl of Schneider Electric with friend and TV presenter Jamie Darling, are to cycle an ambitious charity fund raising seven-day mountain bike challenge in Wales to aid Heart Research UK

David Nicholl, Director of the Schneider Electric Industrial Systems and Solutions division, together with friend and TV presenter Jamie Darling, have already exceeded an ambitious charity fund raising objective that will be realised when the two cyclists complete a gruelling seven-day mountain bike challenge in Wales to aid Heart Research UK David and Jamie form Team Telemecanique (Telemecanique is a brand of Schneider Electric), and will be setting off on the seven stage, 500 kilometer long Mountain Trail Bike Trans Wales 2006 Challenge in August

Teamwork will be vital to the success of the challenge since it consists of a number of off-road stages, which require navigation and map reading, as well as timed special stages that run as relays.

Appropriately enough for a company focussed on energy, the two men have been undergoing rigorous training to ensure they achieve the requisite energy efficiency and timing they will need to complete the challenge.

Both David and Jamie have family members that have been affected by heart conditions and hope that their efforts will help make a difference and save lives.

The two have raised a substantial four figure sum already and expect the final figure to rise further by the time they finish the course.

Heart research UK is leading the way in funding innovative medical research projects into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.
