Schneider Electric has received the highly acclaimed Energy Efficiency Accreditation, recognising the achievement in reducing energy consumption across the company

Schneider Electric has received the highly acclaimed Energy Efficiency Accreditation, awarded by The Carbon Trust and operated under the auspices of the Energy Institute and the National Energy Foundation The Energy Efficiency Accreditation scheme is the UK's only independent award recognising achievements in reducing energy consumption by leading organisations in industry, commerce and the public sector

Only about 200 companies have achieved the stringent requirements of the Accreditation since the scheme inception in 1993.

Schneider Electric joins other major businesses such as BAE Systems, AstraZeneca, United Utilities and BT in successfully gaining accreditation.

Schneider Electric was evaluated by a number of experienced independent assessors who examined its performance by looking at substantial evidence across three key areas: investment in energy efficiency, senior management commitment to saving energy and energy efficiency improvements.

Energy efficiency is high on the agenda at Schneider Electric and it has rolled out an Action Energy programme across all company sites with projected year-end energy savings of up to one million pounds.

Schneider Electric also has a dedicated Energy Efficiency team that can provide businesses with the consultancy, project implementation, in-depth product and application knowledge and lifecycle support services needed to deliver sustainable energy reduction programmes.

Kevin Jones, Principal Energy Consultant at Schneider Electric commented: "We are extremely proud to have received national recognition for all the work we have done.

If we are to succeed in meeting Kyoto targets, business must stop ignoring its energy responsibility, listen to Government and start playing a part in doing something about energy consumption.

Adopting a responsible approach to energy can not only show a healthy and rapid payback to all concerned, but we might help save the planet in the process".
