The new FSS miniature sensors offer OEMs cost effective precision force-sensing.

Based on proven silicon sensing technology, the FSS series utilises a specialised piezo-resistive micro-machined silicon-sensing element.

The low power Wheatstone Bridge sensing circuit provides stable linear mV outputs over the 1500 gram force range.

Miniature SMT housings save board space and still allow overloads of up to 4500 gram.

Combining high accuracy with robust perfomance characteristics, the FSS force sensors are well suited for many demanding applications.

Typical applications include medical equipment control (e.g kidney dialysis machines, drug delivery systems or medical instrumentation), ultra-low displacement sensing in robotic end-effectors (e.g pinch force control), wire bonding equipment and high-precision force sensing such as variable tension control or material testing.

Important features of the new FSS force sensors are: Force range from 0 to 1500 g; Wide operating temperature range of -40 to 70C; High overload (4500 g); Small SMT housing (only 9 x 4 x 3 mm).

The new FSS series sensors combine an excellent price-performance ratio with very small housings making them the right choice for many applications in medical, industrial and instrumentation industry.
