Best lubrication practices can reduce costs by reducing energy use, by up to 7.5%, extending the life of equipment, and helping to prevent equipment failures Rocking, rolling and shaking are frequent indicators of less than ideal lubrication

In Cleveland there will be 10 education courses to be offered, from May 18-22, 2008.

There are useful one day courses for beginners without engineering backgrounds, all the way to advanced courses for experienced professionals in the field.

A recent article in our monthly magazine quantified the potential for improvement from precise lubrication practices.

The January 2008 Tribology and Lubrication Technology journal shows the results of earlier research from Great Britain.

The text states this underestimates the potential savings.

The predictions of potential for improvement from precise lubrication practices cited are:.

* Savings on maintenance and repair costs 20%.

* Savings on lube buys 20%.

* Labour savings for reduced repairs 0.13%.

* Savings from utilization and efficiency 0.1 %.

* Savings on new machine purchases 5%.

* Less energy use from friction control 7.5%.
