New range of absolute displacement
transducers
Solartron Metrology, a market leader in linear measurement, announces the launch of a completely new range of absolute displacement transducers, the S-Series
The dramatic improvements in the performance of data acquisition systems, control systems and instrumentation in recent years have frequently outstripped the performance of the transducers supplying them with data to process At the same time, manufacturing and research applications have required transducers to work with greater enhanced performance within increasingly demanding environments

To redress the balance, Solartron Metrology, a market leader in linear measurement, announces the launch of a completely new range of absolute displacement transducers.
The S-Series is the culmination of many years experience of manufacturing displacement products plus careful note of market feedback, which has resulted in Solartron displacement transducers providing reliable and improved mechanical, environmental and electrical performance.
The S-Series range of transducers has excellent linearity with a superior measuring range to case length ratio.
The need to transfer data from the transducer to the control and monitoring equipment efficiently and reliably has been addressed with new cost effective and rugged onboard signal conditioning.
Designed to operate in hostile environments, the transducers have strong stainless steel bodies with internal magnetic screening and sealing to IP67.
Guided products have polymer guides and rigid carriers, all of which ensure that the transducers will work reliably even in wet and corrosive conditions.
All transducers have an impressively large bore to core clearance and all are available as through bore products making installation simple and forgiving of misalignment.
Providing measurement ranges from +/-2.5 mm to +/-150 mm, the S-Series is available with standard LVDT output or internal signal conditioning providing 4-20 mA or isolated voltage output.
A digital product compatible with the Solartron Orbit Network is also available.
The S-Series product line will be on display at the forthcoming Mesurexpo, Paris (France) and CMTS, Toronto (Canada) exhibitions.
