The course is aimed at all steam users, but in particular operators of small to medium sized steam systems and describes ways in which energy can be saved.
Designed for operator-owners, accountants, directors, factory managers, energy managers and plant engineers, the course takes a non-technical look at how energy can be saved in steam systems.
"Many managers will be aware of the energy saving benefits of low energy lighting or energy efficient motors for example, but few readily recognise the tremendous energy savings that can easily be made in steam generation and use," says Roger Glassonbury, Training Centre Manager at Spirax Sarco.
"With very little investment, even small steam systems can achieve annual energy savings well in excess of double the cost of this course.
So we are confident that we won't have to make any refunds!".
Course topics include steam system management, boiler controls, steam trap monitoring, modern controls, heat recovery, energy audits and heat exchange packages.
Essential information about ways of mitigating the Climate Change Levy and obtaining interest-free loans from the government are also described.
The first two-day course starts on 25th March 2004 and costs GBP800 per delegate.
