The Spirax Sarco BTEC courses have been upgraded from BTEC Awards to BTEC Certificates.

The courses follow the latest thinking on assessment with greater emphasis on continuous assessment and less on end-of-course testing.

The qualifications are the same as those for NVQs.

The two revamped BTEC qualifications are: BTEC Advanced Certificate in Design of Steam Systems - Level 3; BTEC Intermediate Certificate in the Operation and Maintenance of Steam Systems - Level 2.

The high quality of Spirax Sarco training continues to be recognised by top ratings from the official auditor Edexcel.

The company training centre has achieved grade A ratings for the last three years, putting its courses at the top level of any industry-based training in the UK.

The Spirax Sarco Training Centre in Cheltenham, has three fully equipped and air-conditioned lecture rooms and a practical demo area equipped with its own steam boiler, compressor plant and steam and condensate system.

There are several rigs for demonstrating the operation and characteristics of steam traps, pressure and temperature controls, pumps and humidifiers and for hands-on fault finding and assembly exercises.
