A multiple nozzle spray desuperheater is the answer for many applications in the process and power industries that require turndowns in excess of a simple mechanical spray desuperheater

A multiple nozzle spray desuperheater is the answer for many applications in the process and power industries that require turndowns in excess of a simple mechanical spray desuperheater However, they do not warrant the expense or require the additional refinements provided by the Variable Orifice Desuperheater

Such intermediate duties can be met by with a steam atomising type desuperheater, but atomising steam is not always available and the expense of the additional installation and operating costs may not be economically justifiable.

The Copes-Vulcan Multiple Nozzle Spray Desuperheater has been designed for such applications.

Offering optimum performance and rangeability in a variable spray tube design, the Model MNSD-V fills the performance gap between the limited capability of a simple mechanical spray desuperheater and the almost unlimited capability of the Copes-Vulcan Variable Orifice Desuperheater (Model VO).

In addition, the MNSD-V offers high temperature capabilities and low class V leakage rating.

The MNSD-V automatically controls the cooling water flow with the ability to modulate and shutoff.

A separate cooling water control valve is not required as the unit itself controls variations in the required coolant flow.

Unlike other competitor models that can only operate with relatively low water inlet pressures, the MNSD-V can be supplied to accept cooling water inlet pressures up to 3500psig.

This eliminates the need for a cooling water pressure reducing valve, which is not the case with competitor's models, and provides the benefit of allowing far higher flow rates for a given Cv/Kv rating.
