Hydrogen sulphide induced corrosion - The solution
Increased sewage retention times and odour controls have dramatically increased Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) induced corrosion in new and old Wastewater Treatment plant structures
Increased sewage retention times and odour controls have dramatically increased H2S - Hydrogen Sulphide induced corrosion in new and old Wastewater Treatment plants.
Tnemec Performance Coatings are introducing this revolutionary Perma-Shield H2S coating systems designed to extend the life of wastewater treatment works against the increasing effects of H2S permeation, abrasion and sulphuric acid exposure, representing a significant leap in coating technology available to wastewater engineers.
Guy Smithson, MD of SPC, who represent Tnemec in the UK, explains: "Increased odour controls and longer retention times have accentuated H2S levels in wastewater streams resulting in very high levels of corrosion in wastewater treatment works.
The Perma-Shield family of products have been specifically designed to stop H2S permeation where traditional coatings have failed.
This new coating technology enables engineers to continue to use protective coatings in these severe environments, and still benefit from ease of use and faster back into service properties that coatings can achieve".
