Servomex is pleased to announce that it has gained IECEx certification for its versatile process oxygen analyser range, the Servomex 2200 Series This certification gives customers in those countries signed up to IECEx the ability to specify and use the 2200 Series in hazardous areas containing gases or dust

The control units and transmitters of the 2200 Series have received certification from Baseefa (2001), a UK Notified Body for the ATEX Directive.

The Certificate of Conformity from Baseefa attests that the 2200 series design meets the relevant IEC standards and the transmitters are manufactured under a quality management system that complies with the IECEx Scheme.

The 2200 series can be used to measure oxygen content from 0 to 100% with a recommended minimum range 0 - 1% and a repeatability of up to 0.03% - dependent on the transmitter ordered.

Thanks to the characteristics of the fast, rugged, non-depleting paramagnetic sensor cell, zero drift is specified as ranging from 0.02% for the standard temperature version to 0.04% per week for the high temp 110 degree version.

This means calibration is typically only required every three months - which further reduces the operating cost compared with alternative analysers.

Other factors that help minimise cost of ownership include: an auto-calibration facility; intuitive, multi-language text interface, and significantly no need for either a purge gas or reference gas, resulting in further significant savings.

Up to six transmitters can be linked to a single control unit using a single twisted-pair cable, with a maximum range of 1000m allowing flexibility of use.

Customers can also opt to use a digital or analogue output signal from the control unit, which can alternatively be installed on a Modbus fieldbus network.

Depending on the customer requirements, options available include pressure compensation and an internal flow alarm.

Typical applications for the IECEx approved 2200 oxygen analyser series include solvent recovery, PTA plants, vent/flare headers, catalyst regenerators, solvents with high boiling points (such as xylene and toluene), sewage sludge off-gas analysis, and other processes where the atmosphere surrounding the transmitter is potentially explosive.

The 2200 series of products is already certified for ATEX, FM and CSA.
