Heavy duty "off road" gas analyser joins
the range
Following the success of the 5200 Multi Purpose and 5100 intrinsically safe portable gas analysers, Servomex announce the release of a new hybrid unit, the 5200 HD, aimed at "off road" applications
Following the success of the 5200 Multi Purpose and 5100 intrinsically safe portable gas analysers, Servomex announce the release of a new hybrid unit, the 5200 HD, aimed at "off road" applications Offering highly accurate analysis (e.g +/- 0.05% 02) of oxygen or carbon dioxide levels, the unit is designed for those who wish to conduct measurements in wilder environments, but don't require suitability for use in areas at risk from explosive atmospheres

Sud-Chemie AG is one of the world's largest manufacturers of catalysts for the chemical and petro-chemical industries: Servomex process oxygen analysers play a crucial role in the plant safety
Tim Wilkes, Growth Market Manager, said "The sales of our 5200 Multi Purpose analyser have proven there is a real need to take accurate rather than indicative measurements of gas concentrations using a portable analyser.
However, some of our customers want to do this in challenging environments, such as the American desert or whilst in wet caves or tunnels.
Using the heavy duty, rubberised IP65 case of the 5100 Series unit, originally designed for marine or petrochemical industry use, Servomex are now able to offer something that meets the needs of those more adventurous analysts".
The new unit features long life lithium ion batteries and an internal sample pump, though a version suitable for use with bottled/pressurised gases will also soon be available.
At the core of all units are accurate, component specific sensors based on non-consumable technologies - paramagnetic for oxygen and infrared for carbon dioxide.
These ensure that the units will be ready for use even when far from support, without having to carry spare cells e.g as would be required with electrochemical sensors.
