S+S launches metal detection system

A S+S Inspection product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2008

To meet the need for reliable detection of metallic contamination in aluminium packed products, S+S Inspection is launching its Alumaster metal detection system on Stand A56 at the PPMA Show.

The Alumaster uses the technology to detect ferrous and magnetisable metals, including stainless steel, in all types of aluminium packaging.

It is a compact metal detection system designed to be easily integrated with existing conveyor packing lines.

It complies fully with food industry IFS and HACCP requirements and is available for use in dry or wet environments.

The microprocessor control unit uses digital data processing and is self-monitoring and self-balancing.

Product compensation parameters may be stored in the password protected non-volatile memory built in to the control unit.

Four models are available to suit belt widths from 300 to 800mm and product height up to 230mm.

The tunnel detector is open and accessible for cleaning and maintenance.

All surfaces comply fully with the needs of food industries.

A wide range of faulty product ejection systems is available, including swivel arm, pusher and air blast, all combined with a lockable reject container.

The conveyor unit is constructed from stainless steel to minimise effects on scanning sensitivity and stability.

The Alumaster ferrous-in-foil metal detection system can be used for end-of-line and in-process inspection during packing, weighing and labelling.
