New CEO has wide petroleum and process experience

Steve Petridis is the new CEO of Strata Technology in Sunbury, UK, a company providing R and D project and engineering services to petroleum, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries

Steve Petridis, 47, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Strata Technology in Sunbury, UK.

He replaces Dr John Bassett, the Strata founding Managing Director, who will become a consultant to the company until his retirement next year.

He will also remain on the Board.

An employee-owned, specialist engineering company, Strata provides project and engineering services primarily to the research and development operations of the petroleum, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, and to universities both in the UK and overseas.

Fluent in five languages, including Arabic, Mr Petridis is returning to the UK after more than ten years in the USA where he has held senior financial and general management positions with the Shell Group companies in Houston, MG/Hoechst and BOC.

Most recently he was SVP, Sales and Marketing of AMCS Corporation, a fast-growing engineering company targeting the process industries based in New Jersey.

An Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Salford, Steve was awarded an MSc in Power Systems from UMIST.

He completed his MBA at Cranfield in 1991 after working for Schlumberger, Oilfield Technical Services in the UK, France, South Africa and the Middle East throughout the 1980s.

He then joined BOC Gases in the UK before moving with that company to the USA.

Steve is married with three children.
