Double seat stainless valves for CIP applications
The D600 series of double seat valves from leading specialists Sudmo UK, are ideally suited for applications where the secure separation of incompatible fluids in processing plants is mandatory
However nothing could be further from the truth, and these valves offer both high mix-proof security and excellent hygiene capabilities.
Complex routings in process plants demand zero product contamination and the ability to carry out frequent and rigorous cleaning routines with the minimum disruption to the process.
Double block and bleed butterfly valves provide a very cost effective solution with the security of double seals, combined with the capability of being able to clean and drain the so called 'leakage' chamber between the two butterfly discs.
Integrally operated sprung loaded upper and lower poppet valves allow the chamber to be cleaned and drained without any contamination of process product.
The valves are used extensively in the brewing and beverage industries, and their design ensures the safe separation of non-compatible liquids during CIP (cleaning in process) or SIP (sterilising in process) routines by means of positively controlled butterfly discs.
Any leakage at the disc seals can be detected in the chamber and appropriate remedial action taken.
The Sudmo butterfly valves are available with a variety of seal materials to suit specific applications.
These include Silicone-VMQ, EPDM, Viton-FPM, HNBR and PTFE coated EPDM.
Operational temperatures up to 130C with 200C sterilising capabilities possible.
The seat design ensures that high levels of seal memory are retained, reducing the effect of disc entrapment in the seat when the valves are closed for long periods and on temperature cycling duties.
The stem sealing design ensures high integrity sealing properties and offers low operational torque requirements.
Valve operation can be manual via a lever or automatic by means of a pneumatic actuator.
