Swagelok meets Transportable PED requirements

A Swagelok product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Nov 18, 2003

Swagelok has successfully completed evaluation of its stainless steel double-ended sample cylinders; rupture disc units; and D series, non-rotating-stem needle valves for European TPED requirements

The Swagelok Company shas uccessfully completed evaluation of its stainless steel double-ended sample cylinders; rupture disc units; and D series, non-rotating-stem needle valves according to European Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (TPED) requirements.

The TPED, which became mandatory on July 1, 2003, covers pressure equipment used in the transport of certain dangerous goods on public roads and rail within EU countries.

The TPED allows qualified Swagelok products to be used in transportable applications that are acceptable throughout the EU.

Swagelok completed audits with an approved Notified Body to assess its design, manufacturing, and testing, and currently holds module B (EC type-examination) and module D (production quality assurance) certificates.

Marking on sample cylinders and valves (Pi) and rupture disc units (CE) clearly identifies products covered by the TPED.
