Swagelok sales and service centres have increasingly branched out into new territories, alongside customers from multinationals in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and mining industries

Over the past few years, Swagelok European sales and service centres have increasingly branched out into new territories, alongside customers from multinationals in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and mining industries In Africa, the Swagelok name is now seen emanating from centres in the Republic of South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Angola, and Morocco

The newest of these operations opened in Luanda (Angola) in March this year and new operations will open in Central Africa soon.

Swagelok distributors are also rapidly expanding their capacity to meet the growing demands of the oil and gas industry in Russia and the Caspian Sea area.

The local distributors play a role in these regions that extends well beyond being able to supply their local customers with high quality Swagelok products and services that clients rely on.

As distributors have expanded they have combined their product knowledge with industry experience, to provide customers with strong technical support, often leading to significant performance advantages and/or cost savings.

In addition to product and technical expertise, the distributors provide some of the most comprehensive value-added services available in their industry.

These services include local training programmes for customer personnel to build their knowledge of how to select, handle and install Swagelok products.

"Providing local technical support, as well as literature in local languages is a high priority for us," said Peter O'Connor, regional director for Swagelok, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"We are also expanding our capacity to provide a range of training programmes to help our customers to train their installation personnel.

The reaction from customers, many of whom are expatriates, familiar with Swagelok services, has been tremendous.

They are delighted to see that Swagelok can provide them with the products and services that they are familiar with in these developing markets," said Peter.

It is expected that in the future the availability of Swagelok products and services will continue to grow in these regions, to respond to the needs of a wider range of international and local customers.
