The SY016 digital bridge amplifier is ideal for load cell measurement applications where speed and accuracy are important, such as research and development work or precision control applications

The SY016 digital bridge amplifier is the ideal tool for load cell measurement applications where speed and accuracy are important The SY016 is for ideal research and development work or precision control applications

The SY016 is a completely self contained unit which will provide excitation for up to four 350R bridges.

It measures both strain and temperature, working in both tension and compression due to its fully differential input.

The built-in microcomputer calculates a temperature compensated 20 bit value (signed), which is directly proportional to the load.

The SY016 digital bridge amplifier has previously been used for various forms of research and development, included spring research where there is obviously the need for extremely fast data measurement and collection, as well as accurate distinction between measurements.

Load cells can be easily connected into the SY016 via standard terminal blocks, and the data is output to a PC or PLC interface via a serial data connection.

The data input into the unit can be transferred and read directly on a PC.

For larger systems the SY016 digital bridge amplifiers can be simply linked through hyper-terminals.

A key feature of the SY016 is that it will accept both analogue and digital load cells.

Various competing digital amplifiers require a digital junction box before the amplifier input, when reading analogue load cells.

The SY016 does not require such peripheral devices as it can digitise such signals internally.

The SY016 offers a maximum reading speed of 400Hz limited only by the serial port transmission speed; simple ASCII command set language and safe storage of calibration parameters in non-volatile EEPROM.

The unit requires a supply voltage of 7 to 20Vdc and provides 5V bridge excitation.

The SY016 is also available cased or uncased - depending on the customer's requirements.

Options available for the SY016 include RS232 or RS485 data transfer, casing options and a peak capture facility (rated at 25msec).

The SY016 can be converted into a portable unit if it is linked to the Synectic SY021 portable load meter.
