New SY035 compact panel-mount weight indicator
The new SY035 Compact Weight Indicator combines legendary accuracy and reliability, with ease of use in a design half the size of the nearest competitor
The SY035W links through load cells to measure weight, the built-in amplifier can drive up to four 350R loadcells.
The measurements are displayed on a 6 digit display, with a 16mm display height.
The unit can be powered by 110V or 230V AC, or 15 to 30V DC, with all varieties consuming less than 6W.

Synectic Design is renowned for the high quality and excellent value instrumentation amplifiers produced, but now many process control systems require the digital input available from the latest units
Synectic Design solenoid valves!
Synectic Design are known as specialists in process control electronics, providing standard and specially designed flow and weighing controllers: now our packages can even include solenoid valves
In its standard form the SY035W is controlled by four push buttons, programming requirements are minimised and all adjustments can be simply made through the four buttons.
An audible tone acknowledges each key press as well as tactile feedback from the positive click action buttons.
The standard SY035W feeds its signal into a 16 bit A to D converter, running at 6Hz, with a resolution which is greater than 1 in 60,000.
The unit uses the built in amplifier and bridge excitation reference for direct connection to load cells.
The excitation supply is also used as the A to D converter reference to give true ratiometric measurement.
For greater performance a high resolution 24 bit A to D converter (1 in 1 million) is available as an option, running at 120Hz.
This option allows the user to obtain the best possible performance from their load cell, as the resolution of the weight indicator is greater than the capability of a load cell.
Other key features include: a simple automatic calibration facility, with settings stored in non-volatile memory; a remote tare facility, and fast peak and trough hold modes.
The SY035W is suitable for numerous applications where weight needs to be displayed to machine operators.
Industries that the indicator is aimed at include: food, chemical, concrete, agricultural, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries.
The display can be adjusted to display the measurements in various units.
The unit is cased in a 96mm square DIN casing, with a panel depth of less than 81mm.
We have found through discussions with panel builders that instrumentation panels are tending towards shallower depths with larger surface areas, rather that deeper panels with smaller surface areas - therefore this product is 'future proof'.
Options offered on the SY035W include: a wall mount enclosure casing, a protective clear cover (now proving extremely popular with our other products), AC or DC power, two set point relays, RS232 or RS485 communications connection, a data logger, a panel mounted printer, and an analogue output - fully scalable 4-20mA output.
Synectic Design Ltd has been designing and manufacturing industrial process control and measurement instrumentation and systems since 1993 and are considered as leaders in the process electronics industry.
