The SY046 is a strain gauge bridge amplifier providing a 4-20mA output with a remotely triggered zero offset facility.

Its on board switching regulator allows it to be efficiently powered from a wide range of DC voltages.

The unit has been proven in very tough environments to have very low heat generating properties and a very high immunity to noise interference.

The SY046 digital amplifier is used as a local signal conditioning device for various strain gauge bridge configurations.

Each arm of the bridge has a separate connector which can be used to implement full bridge, half bridge or quarter bridge operations.

On board jumpers allow it to be configured for 4mA or 12mA zero, positive voltage or closed contact/open collector remote zero triggers, and fast or normal operation.

The first customer for the SY046 is Ocean Power Delivery (OPD) - a company who are developing wave powered generating systems.

OPD are using the device to as part of the stress measurement system for their full sized ocean going wave powered units.

An Italian truck company are also planning to use the SY046 to measure the weight of the tank on a truck; they also plan to use them for simple single point loadcell applications.

The SY046 is an ideal too for test and measurement functions within numerous industries.

The SY046 is extremely user-friendly as most digital test and measurement products require an RS232 (or similar) interface, but with this unit can be used as if it were any standard analogue piece of equipment through terminal connections.

The user does not need to know or be taught any special functions or connections.

All control of the unit is through wired terminal connections to any buttons you require.

All standard analogue units require zero adjustment through potentiometer screwdriver adjustment; the SY046 can be zeroed by a simple remote wired push button.
