WT Atkin has won export contracts worth over GBP270,000 as a direct result of services provided by Partners UK - the government body dedicated to supplying UK companies with global expertise on trade

WT Atkin, based in Thetford, Norfolk, designs and manufactures coil processing equipment and has recently won contracts in the Czech Republic and Belgium In February last year, the company signed up to the Trade Partners UK 'Your Passport to Export Success' programme, which provides advice and funding to new and inexperienced exporters

Chris Ward, managing director of WT Atkin commented, "I found the programme very useful in helping us to focus on our objectives when considering our export strategy.

As a result we put a full-time sales representative into France and Belgium to start building up contacts.

Later in the year Trade Partners UK made a contribution for us to attend Euroblech, the leading international trade show for the metalworking industry which took place in Hanover, Germany.

Here we were able to strengthen our contacts with the result that we have now won orders from Europe worth over ?270,000".

The company has been commissioned to design and develop a semi-automatic sheet inspection line for a Belgian company.

The second contract is with a leading producer of filtration systems and replacement parts, which has opened a new factory in the Czech Republic. Request free introductory details about products from UK Trade and Investment ...
