Water meter reading and wireless transmission
In a first application of the new Optical Direct Reading Sensor (ODRS) a classical water meter reading is transmitted electronically using Wireless Intelligent Routing Technology (WIRR)
This presents the operational principle of a water meter automatic meter reading system.
It introduces a new generation of Optical Direct Reading Sensor (ODRS) water meter and an advanced Wireless Intelligent Routing Technology (WIRR) AMR sytem for water supply operators.
In the normal water meter, the figure wheel is put into the water to be driven by the flow to count directly.
The figure wheel is put into the water, driven by water, to count water consumption directly without any magnetic driving structure.
The measuring procedure is not disturbed by the external environment.
Because the figure wheel is under water, any AMR system has problems in using electronics.
Tai Feng Yuan Video Digital Co has a deep knowledge of the resources of computing, automatic control, sensor and measuring industry, and applied this knowledge to develop the ODRS wet meter using their patented technology of optical direct-reading sensor (ODRS) and an advanced wireless AMR system based on wireless intelligent routing relay technology (WIRR).
The ODRS sensor is installed on the figure wheel of the water meter independently and separately, put into water together with the wheel and sealed in a special liquid.
Its reading processes do not interfere with the measuring procedure or disturb the operation mechanism and precision of the meter itself, the technology of ODRS guarantees data reading exactly as is shown on the wheel.
ODRS is only powered-up at the instant of reading by the WIRR AMR system and powered-down at all other times to ensure the lowest power consumption.
The advanced WIRR AMR system guarantees remote reading with 'No Missed Counts' on all water meters which are installed at any environment.
All wireless reading nodes are only powered-on during reading, powered-down after reading, and the power supply is from an embedded long life battery with high performance.
The special operation mode makes the reading node work over 5-10 years without replacement of battery.
The ODRS wet meter and advanced WIRR AMR system solve all known existing problems and disadvantages for remote water meter rading and monitoring, they provide a new generation of water meter with AMR system for water supply providers.
