The full Conference Programme and abstracts are now on the web - see the menu item "Programme".
The first day kicks off with a keynote address from Alaister Gemmill, Engineering Manager at Enpure, a specialist systems supplier to the water industry.
The presentation will be focusing on the development of fieldbus systems and the way forward, with particular emphasis on the integration of fieldbus into modern process systems.
Other papers lined up for the day include 'Efficient Design of a Successful Profibus Project' from Mark Cargill also of Enpure, 'Transparency of Diagnostics, from Device to CMMS' by Gareth Johnston of ABB, and 'Profinet for Process' by Matthias Roemer of Endress+Hauser.
On day two, the Wednesday, the presentations include James Powell of Siemens Milltronics with "Field Instruments Under a Microscope", while Nina Vaughan of Pepperl+Fuchs will be discussing 'Fieldbus for Hazardous Areas'.
Other presentations include a case study featuring Profibus DP, PA and AS Interface and a worked example process project entitled "How to estimate data rate" presented by Alexander Kaiser of ABB.
Both days will feature hands-on workshops showing different practical aspects of Profibus systems, each presented twice to ensure no-one misses out.
These include 'Device Configuration and Asset Management' - a joint hands-on event with Andy Smith of Endress + Hauser and Mark McCormick of Siemens Process Control; 'Profibus Installation' and also 'Profinet Installation' from Andy Verwer, Principal Lecturer at MMU, and 'Profibus Commissioning and Health Checking' from Joost van der Nat of Procentec.
Other formal presentations lined up for the two day event include two from Manfred Popp, Chairman of the Profinet Working Group - 'Overview and applications of Profinet and Modern Ways of communication with Profinet I/O'; Peter Brown of Siemens UK will discuss 'Profinet and Component-based Automation', Alan Bollard of Westermo will present on 'Wireless Fieldbus' and there will be an automated warehouse logistics case study involving Profibus and Profinet from Andy Childs of FKI Logistics.
With attendance priced at just GBP95 + VAT for one day or GBP160 + VAT for two days, the Conference represents really good value for anyone wishing to learn about Profibus, Profinet or PROFIsafe in Process or Factory Automation.
