Profibus presents system design tutorial

The Profibus Group will be supporting Process Engineering Live at Manchester Central on 10 and 11 March 2009 by presenting a tutorial entitled 'System design using Profibus and other technologies'.

The tutorial will be delivered by Andy Verwer, principal lecturer at the Profibus International Competence Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The tutorial is derived from a course that has been developed because many of the errors that are seen in modern automation system installations are traceable to fundamental decisions that are taken at the early stages of the project.

The paper deals with the overall architecture of the control system and how to use different technologies appropriately to design an optimised system that is reliable, maintainable and flexible for future expansion and modification.

Process Engineering Live features a free conference programme with sessions focusing on: process improvement, asset management, energy and environment, and skills.
