Next generation sulphur analyser launched
Thermo Electron Corporation trace level Total Sulfur XVI+ analyser incorporates the most advanced lead acetate tape technology for ultimate versatility in sulphur analysis
Thermo Electron Corporation trace level Total Sulfur XVI+ analyser incorporates the most advanced lead acetate tape technology for ultimate versatility in sulphur analysis.
This multipurpose instrument has been developed to provide the petrochemical, automotive and food and beverage industries with a complete solution for fast and accurate low detection analysis.
Environmental regulatory agencies worldwide are promulgating dramatic motor fuel sulphur level reductions.
The concentration of sulphur in fuels now has to be very close to zero meaning that very low detection levels are mandatory.
In addition, refineries have moved to the production of lighter compounds in crude oil fractions.
Catalysts play a major role in these new processes and, since sulphur is detrimental to the effectiveness of these catalysts, regular trace analysis of these elements is of paramount importance.
Emerging techniques such as fuel cell technology are reliant on low level sulphur analysis techniques and the XVI+ analyser provides enough sensitivity to trace ultra low sulphur.
The lead acetate detection method determines H2S without any interference, making the XVI+ analyser H2S specific while providing extremely low detection levels.
It also allows the XVI+ to measure total colour change and colour change rates.
Therefore this versatile and accurate instrument can analyse liquids and gas/LPG samples from very low levels (ppb) to high concentrations (ppm).
The XVI+ analyser is also equipped with a liquids auto sampler, which enables the analyser to work around the clock, thereby optimising productivity.
The XVI+ analyser features ThEuS analytical software that enables scientists to achieve routine total sulphur analysis in an efficient, fast and reliable way.
Clear icons enable the user to operate the instrument at a glance.
The software has been configured to allow the operator to multi-task without affecting the analyses in progress.
Thus, sample queues can easily be modified or data and calibration lines independently evaluated.
Results are typically presented in customized print reports or exported in a variety of data formats.
