Thermo has introduced a new Carousel Autosampler accessory, designed for use with the Nicolet Almega XR dispersive Raman microscope and NXR FT-Raman spectrometers

Thermo Electron Corporation announces the introduction of a new Carousel Autosampler accessory, designed for use with the Nicolet Almega XR dispersive Raman microscope and NXR FT-Raman spectrometers This versatile accessory automates the collection of Raman spectra from multiple samples and is designed principally for routine analysis environments such as QA/QC laboratories

Historically, Raman spectroscopy has been used in experimental laboratory and research environments, where time-consuming alignment and calibration procedures are acceptable and high throughput sample analysis is unnecessary.

Automation incorporated into the Almega and the NXR FT-Raman spectrometers has already addressed many of these issues.

With the new Thermo Carousel Autosampler, the analyst is now able to load and run one set of samples in the spectrometer, while preparing a second sample set in a second carousel, thus, finally achieving uninterrupted sampling throughout the day.

Automated data collection from the Carousel Autosampler is controlled by the Omnic software suite for FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy.

The Carousel Autosampler pins-in-place into the macro chamber of the Almega XR and into the sample compartment of the NXR FT-Raman spectrometer.

The motorised carousel rotates up to 16 industry-standard sampling tubes into position in the excitation laser beam for unattended sampling.

The Carousel Autosampler accommodates 5, 10 and 13 mm diameter tubes.

The Almega XR and the NXR FT-Raman spectrometers are designed for walk-up operation through the implementation of patented auto-calibration and auto-alignment capabilities and automated laser switching.

All Thermo Raman spectrometers can be certified and fully qualified to meet the most stringent industry regulatory requirements with the ValPro instrument qualification software.
