Maxseal and IVP at KIOGE 2005 in Kazakhstan

Thompson Valves has showcased its range of Maxseal and IVP products at the 13th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (KIOGE) in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Thompson Valves, part of the specialist valve manufacturing group Truflo International, has showcased its range of Maxseal and IVP products at the 13th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (KIOGE) in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The event is the largest international exhibition and conference in the Caspian and Central Asia region and this year is the first time Thompson Valves has attended.

"Our first visit to KIOGE went very well and really exceeded all of our expectations," commented the Thompson Valves Sales Director Darren Sheppard.

"We translated our sales literature into Russian and that definitely helped us to raise genuine interest amongst the local visitors".

Thompson Valves received a very positive response for its range of Maxseal and IVP products from the local market and oil and gas centres in the Atyrau, Aqtau and Almaty areas of Kazakhstan.

Scott Waugh, Maxseal Sales Manager, commented: "We accrued a large number of important contacts at the event and were able to discuss their requirements at the stand.

Kazakhstan is a relatively new market for us; however, there are already Maxseal valves in Karachaganak, Tengiz, Atyrau refinery and more lately Kashagan".

The booming Kazakhstan oil and gas sector presents numerous opportunities for Thompson Valves.

Over the past six years, oil production in Kazakhstan has doubled, gas production is also rising.

International consortia developing in the area expect to invest over $5 billion over the next few years in major fields such as Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan.
