Industrial pump specialist Tri-Ark has added a new positive displacement pump to its range of specialist pumps for hygienic applications

This new pump features a novel design using multiple hydraulically-driven diaphragms which allows a virtually pulse-free flow at high pressures Operating at greater than 80% efficiency, the pump range offers considerable energy savings compared to other pump types

Suitable for pumping water, caustic solutions and cleaning fluids, these pumps can be mounted horizontally or vertically and are ideally suited to in-plant cleaning applications in the food and beverage industry.

Used in conjunction with a variable frequency drive the pump can be used to supply high pressure water for individual drop stations located throughout the processing plant.

The individual cleaning lances can be used for cleaning conveyor belts, storage totes, cookers, food dryers and enrobers.

Other applications include tank, barrel and keg washing.

Pumps are available with flow rates from 1 - 140 L/min at discharge pressures from 2 - 172 bar.

The pump hydraulically balances the diaphragm over the complete operating pressure range.

This results in the diaphragm experiencing a pressure differential of only 0.15 bar even up to 172 bar.

This leads to extremely long diaphragm life.

The new pump is available in a variety of materials, including stainless steel, polypropylene, brass and nickel alloy, allowing a wide range of chemicals to be pumped.

A choice of diaphragm elastomers include Buna, Viton, EPDM, Neoprene and Teflon.

Self priming and capable of running dry without damage, the pump can also pump fluids containing suspended abrasive particles.

Flow rate is proportional to speed and the pump can be driven by electric, air or hydraulic, using direct, belt or gear couplings.
